Bhutan has its own unique set of traditional games and sports. Traditional games such as archery, khuru (dart), pungdo (shot put), degor (similar to discus), soksum (javelin) and keshi (wrestling) form a vital aspect of our national life. These games are played between teams during weekends, holidays, and special occasions of new year festivals. Although these games are a male preserve, of late women have also started playing Khuru (darts). Most of these traditional games are an activity for fun and frolic; and players usually drink, dance and make-merry.
