Bhutan has four seasons – spring, summer, autumn and winter. These four seasons in many ways directly influence the way of life here. Spring is one of the best seasons, with cool temperature, appropriate for trekking. Summers are usually hot in the southern plains but in the interiors parts of Bhutan, it can be moderate to pleasant. Summer also marks the monsoon season, so one can expect a lot of showers during this time. Autumn is another wonderful season – a season of harvest. Normally during this time of the year, the vegetation is rife with golden colors, and nature is at its most enchanting form. It is also the best times for hiking and trekking. Winters in the inner and upper Himalayas can be extremely cold. However, winters in southern plains are cool and pleasant
